oxbow is at it again...

don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching the simmer boys ripping. they are bad arse and represent the brand with their hard hitting, aggressive go for it sailing. with the controversial 4th place finish of us33 at the awt makani classic people commented to me that they didn't realize us33 is such an amazing sailor. yes, he is. for example...

jaws & us33 enjoying each other
one of the industry old timers (sure I'll catch trouble for that) commented with respect. he said that us33 consistently finished at the top while on the pwa tour, isn't self-promoting and wasn't promoted by his brand sponsors so never took the spot light position that he deserved.

so simmer boys, don't think I don't love you but I found this in my in-box this morning from oxbow and you know how I enjoy watching ka1111.

continuing the simmer talk...

shooting with my pro-parazzi phone camera over my shoulder might not have been the most respectful thing to do but us1113 and simmer int'l team manager were meeting. is there a deal in the works?

us1113 on simmer
sorry can't remember who I swiped this pic from

will us1113 be positive for the brand? only time will tell (cliche I know). rumors are he's considering a sail # change. a fresh start as he moves away from naish?

the italians are here and you know how I enjoy their love of life (and food). word on the beach is there were 50+ sailors at ho'okipa the other day. no, not all were italian.

it's two weeks tomorrow that I haven't sailed and though I'm not totally cranky my closest peeps are keeping an eye on me to make sure I don't have a meltdown. thanks.

my review of the 75 simmer flywave is almost done. it's been on the water without me but is back in the shop so if my foot is up for it I'll take it out monday. a few shots for you...

time to elevate, ice and enjoy a bit of sympathy...

  1. Nice post. We do know how much you like checking out KA1111. When is simmer going to branch off into the snowsports? I need a nice Simmer snowboard under my feet so that I can represent on the frozen water.

  2. thanks. glad you aren't upset with me. sounds like a great idea for brand expansion. what windsurfer wouldn't want a windsurfing snowboard?
